The 31 ELTIS Master Trainers who were selected, undertook a 20-week Cambridge ESOL ICELT course and a Training of Trainers (TOT) course at IALF Bali. These courses were vital to the establishment of a common vision, mission and language prior to the trainers commencement of the training of MTs English language teachers in January 2008 (East Java) and February 2008 (NTB) 2008.
The training team commenced the full-time intensive ICELT (In-service Certificate in English Language Teaching) course, accredited by Cambridge ESOL UK, on 9 July 2007. The 20 week course, which they completed on 14 December 2007, incorporated input on:
The team members developed common approaches to syllabus and materials development, course planning, implementation and post-course support. To facilitate this, ELTIS incorporated a range of workshops, Team Building activities, curriculum & materials writing workshops and participative discussion forums into the ICELT and TOT courses.
